It’s a Wrap: Healthcare Transformation – It’s All about the Data

By: In: Healthcare On: Mar 25, 2016

HIMSS ’16 is now in the rear-view mirror. The HIMSS theme, “Transforming Health through IT”, was reinforced in keynote presentations, sessions, and conversations. The massive exhibit hall showcased great examples of Health IT innovation, interoperability, and ingenuity. Yet underlying the rapid industry innovation and transformation is data – and lots of it.

To close out our most recent “Predictions and Perspectives” blog series – with its focus on Healthcare Transformation – Iron Mountain hosted an #InfoTalk TwitterChat to get real-world perspectives on the importance of data in the healthcare industry.  Hosted by @IronMtnHealth and moderated by John Lynn (@techguy) and Shahid Shah (@shahidnshaw), the Twitter Chat revealed the opportunities and challenges facing healthcare professionals concerned with data management, data governance (DG), and information governance (IG).  Topics ranged from the relationship between IG and DG, to data quality, patient identity, and the importance in the new EHR world.

During the course of the hour-long Twitter Chat, leading industry experts came together to discuss these topics – and more. Be sure to check out the conversation – and let us know your thoughts.
